Our Story
I started Smooth Finish Plastering in 2015 after a few too many jobs spent fixing other people's rushed work: ceilings skimmed over damp patches instead of sorting the damp first, corners that were never square to begin with. I trained as a plasterer through my twenties and always thought the finish mattered more than the speed, so I set up on my own with that as the whole idea.
It was just me for the first three years, mostly small domestic jobs around Leicester. As word got around I brought on a second plasterer, Danny, who's been with me eight years now. We've kept it to the two of us on tools rather than growing into a bigger outfit with subcontractors, because the standard slips the moment you're not the one holding the trowel.
Eleven years on, we're still doing the same mix of work: skims, renders, repairs, the odd full re-plaster after a leak or a damp job. Every quote is written, every job dust-sheeted, and if a wall needs more than we quoted for, we tell you before we do it, not after.

Business founded
Started working solo across Leicester, taking on skimming and patching jobs other plasterers had rushed.

Second plasterer joins
Brought Danny on as a second full-time plasterer, keeping the team small rather than subcontracting out.
