Coving is one of those jobs that makes more difference to a room than its size suggests. We fit standard plaster coving on new build and extension ceilings where none exists, and match period profiles on older Leicester and Leicestershire properties where the original coving’s been damaged or removed by a previous owner.
Matching an existing period profile takes more time than fitting a standard run, since the corners have to be mitred by hand rather than cut to a stock angle. We keep a range of common Victorian and Edwardian profiles in stock, and for anything unusual we can get a custom run made up before we start, which we’ll factor into the quote.
Ceiling roses are the other request that comes up regularly, usually for a period living room or a new build wanting to add some character. We fit these to suit whatever light fitting’s going up, checking the weight rating before installation on anything heavier than a standard pendant.
Standard coving starts from £8 per metre fitted, with period profiles and ceiling roses quoted individually once we know the room and the profile you want matched.
